Testosterone Injections
The most established, most adjustable form of testosterone therapy — prescribed after a thorough evaluation, done from home, and monitored by a provider who knows your labs by name.
The Basics
What are testosterone injections?
Testosterone injections deliver bioidentical testosterone directly into muscle or the fat just beneath the skin, where it's gradually released into the bloodstream. The most commonly prescribed form is testosterone cypionate, a long-acting form that has been used in medicine for decades.
For men with clinically confirmed low testosterone, injections restore levels into a healthy physiologic range. Because the dose and schedule can be fine-tuned with each round of labs, injections give your provider the most precise control of any TRT option.
Common signs of low testosterone
- Persistent fatigue and low energy
- Decreased libido or erectile changes
- Brain fog and poor concentration
- Loss of muscle and strength
- Weight gain, especially around the midsection
- Low mood, irritability, or poor motivation
- Slow recovery from training

Choosing Your Route
Injections vs. pellets
We offer both. Here's how they compare — your provider will help you decide which fits your life.
| Injections | Pellets | |
|---|---|---|
| How it's given | Self-injection at home | Small pellets placed under the skin in a brief in-office procedure |
| Frequency | Typically weekly or twice weekly | Every 4–6 months |
| Dose adjustments | Easy to adjust anytime | Fixed until the next insertion |
| Best for | Men who want precise control and flexibility | Men who prefer set-it-and-forget-it convenience |
Questions
Testosterone injection FAQs
Do testosterone injections hurt?
Most men find them far easier than expected. Injections use a small needle, take only seconds, and become routine within a few weeks. We walk you through technique before your first dose.
How often will I inject?
Most patients inject once or twice per week. Smaller, more frequent doses keep levels steadier and can reduce side effects. Your provider sets a schedule based on your labs and how you feel.
Do I need to come into the clinic?
No. Basecamp Medical operates as a telehealth and concierge clinic, so consultations happen remotely and your medication is mailed directly to your home anywhere in Alaska.
Is lab work required?
Yes. Comprehensive labs confirm whether you're a candidate and keep treatment safe. Follow-up labs throughout treatment track your levels and catch any changes early.
Will TRT affect my fertility?
It can. Testosterone therapy may reduce sperm production. If children are in your plans, tell us during your consultation so we can discuss options before starting.
Do you accept insurance?
We're a concierge-style clinic and don't bill insurance, which keeps pricing transparent and visits unhurried. Many patients use HSA/FSA funds, and we can provide a superbill on request.
Can I stop treatment later?
Yes. If you decide to stop, your provider will guide you through it safely, since your body's natural production may take time to recover.
